FAMILY RESOURCE NETWORK
Provincial Family Resource Networks (FRNs) deliver high quality prevention and early intervention services and supports for children aged 0 to 18.
Networks provide a range of services and supports that focus on strengthening parenting and caregiving knowledge, social support, coping and problem-solving skills, access to community supports and resources, improving child and youth development, building resiliency and fostering well-being.
Through a ‘hub and spoke’ model of service delivery, Networks (hubs) will coordinate the prevention and early intervention services in all geographic areas and in various cultural communities across the province – either directly or through collaborative partnerships with qualified service agencies or providers (spokes).
Kids First is pleased to be the Hub for the provincial Southwest Family Resource Network. The FRN is a provincial initiative that supports families, children and youth up to the age of 18 years. The SW FRN serves the areas of Granum, Fort Macleod, Lundbreck, Pincher Creek and west to Blairmore.
The two agencies or Spokes for the SWFRN are the South Region Parents As Teachers In-Home visiting program and the Pincher Creek Family Centre.
We offer subsidies up to $100 per year/per child to help enable children and youth to participate in local organized arts and recreation programs and events.
Contact us for eligibility requirements @ 587-787-1071 or kffcdirector1@lrsd.ab.ca
The Southwest Family Resource Network is also part of the larger network of the provincial South Region.
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work and serve on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani) and the Metis Region 3. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and share in the cultural heritage of the people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
